Stone Kingdoms 0.6 Changelog


Following our bi-yearly release schedule, with a couple of months late, we're pleased to release version 0.6!  

This release includes an improvement to the pathfinding algorithm, a few new buildings, and military units that you can move around!   

New Buildings

  • Wooden Perimeter Tower: A small wooden defensive tower.
  • Wooden Defensive Tower: A large wooden defensive tower.
  • Wooden Big Gate: A bigger kind of wooden gate.
  • Pitch Rig: Small platform to collect pitch from the swamp. Swamp doesn't exist yet, so this is placeable anywhere for the moment.
  • ApothecaryIt creates a healer that wanders around. Has no effect for the gameplay at the moment.
  • Stable: Produces horses. Not functional.

Translations

  • Added crowdin integration so anyone can submit translations for their own language: https://crowdin.com/project/stone-kingdoms
  • Currently translated languages:

    • Portuguese (BR)
    • Ukrainian
    • Contributions are welcome!
  • Language can be changed from Options -> Interface

Gameplay

  • Added military units (they can only be moved around for now, there's no combat yet).
    • Archer
    • Spearman
    • Crossbowman
    • Pikemen
    • Swordsman
    • Maceman
    • Ladderman (recruitable from the Engineer's Guild)
    • Engineer (recruitable from the Engineer's Guild)
    • Digger  (recruitable from the Tunneller's Guild)
    • Monk (recruitable from the Citadel)
  • Switched popularity system to be more similar to Stronghold.
  • Buildings will now be unlocked by upgrading the keep.
  • Added ability to upgrade houses to increase the population.
  • Added priest worker for the chapel (he blesses buildings, but there's no popularity bonus yet).
  • Workers now leave their job when they're unhappy.
  • Added sleep feature to buildings. Buildings can be put to sleep to temporarily free a peasant for a different workplace.

GUI

  • Main menu buttons are no longer pre-rendered buttons, but 9-slice based ones that can be translated into any language.
  • Changes some fonts to improves language support.
  • Added master volume slider in the settings.
  • Added percentages to the volume sliders.
  • Major overhaul of the graphics settings.
    • VSync
    • Borderless
    • Display number
    • Apply button restarts the game in order to take changes into account

Misc

  • Revamped art for stockpile goods, woodcutter's hut and a few other buildings.
  • Added new tree types: birch and chestnut.
  • Extended soundtrack (check below for credits).
  • Added drunkard. They will wander around the inn and houses.
  • Added automatic crash reporting via Sentry. If you want to disable this, you can just delete https.dll/https.so
  • Made woodcutter's tree finding algorithm smarter.
  • Added a new main menu soundtrack.
  • Added language picker to the menu (Options -> Interface).
  • Added `addGold` cheat code. 

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed workers not able to enter buildings when they're built right next to other buildings. Workers can now enter and exit workplaces from any direction.
  • Fixed an issue where you couldn't trade goods when you select them from the stockpile.
  • Fixed crash when completing the last mission in the campaign.
  • Fixed crash on load when having a Maypole.
  • Fixed crash on load when having an Inn.
  • Fixed Orchard farmer crash.
  • Fixed Chicken related crash.
  • Fixed not reloading prices at the market.
  • Fixed woodcutters getting stuck in various situations.
  • Fixed inaccurate gold counter when trading weapons.
  • Fixed multiple woodcutters chopping the same tree.
  • Fixed game music not stopping when return back to main menu.
  • Fixed crash loading a game with a windmill.
  • Fixed "cannot build" sounds not always playing.
  • Fixed an issue where changing resolution messed up UI. (The game now restarts instead)
  • Fixed an issue where sound volumes won't be saved if exited the options menu with Escape
  • Fixed an issue where typing in the in-game console in a language other than English would crash the game.
